Peter's Faith

Though he has never been in remission, Peter celebrated the 10th anniversary of his diagnosis on July 31, 2007. About a week later, on August 9th, he became a teenager. Additionally, the parish priest at the St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church of Great Falls, VA, received an instant approval from the Bishop of Arlington to give Peter his Confirmation on his birthday. A month later, on September 8th, the priest went to Peter's house to give him his fifth and final sacrament: the Anointing of the Sick.

About six or seven years ago, Peter told his mom:

"Mom, do you know, in Heaven, there are so many more trees and flowers than at our house? There were paths made of two different colors of green grass. It seemed like everyone had their own houses. I was behind the bushes, and God sad in a chair in the middle of the garden watching my friends. Karen, Wei-Wei, Big Philip, and Tish were running around while Jasmine was asking something of Mother Mary. I was hiding behind the bushes, but God said He knew where I was and asked me to come out. I watched them play for a while, but then He told me to go home."

After this dream, he had several other encounters with God over the years. Peter heard the same voice of God on August 28 and September 6 of last year. God said "Wake up, Peter! Wake up. You need to wake up."

Exactly one week before he passed away, after a platelets transfusion was over, Peter said, "This is truly a message from God. Keep it up. Stay happy. Don't ever look down." Through his actions, Peter conveyed this message throughout his life.
